Tycho.AI Unveils Horizon: The Agile Autonomy Stack and Application Suite Delivering Full Mission Autonomy Across Denied and Contested Domains

CAMBRIDGE, MA, Nov. 04, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Tycho.AI’s Horizon autonomy stack and application suite can integrate on any UAS platform to enable full operational agile autonomy in GPS-denied and comms-degraded environments. [Credit: Tycho.AI]

Tycho.AI, a leader in AI-driven tactical autonomy, today introduced Horizon, a vertically-integrated hardware-software stack engineered to provide full operational autonomy for uncrewed platforms in communications-degraded, denied, and contested environments.

Expanding on Tycho.AI’s Voyager edge compute module, Horizon is a low size, weight, and power (low-SWaP) autonomy stack with a suite of specialized tactical applications. These applications are modular and adapt to diverse mission sets, including counter-unmanned aerial systems (C-UAS), one-way attack, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR), and swarm operations. Horizon applications include:

  • Horizon:NAVIGATION — Visual-inertial navigation at all altitudes and challenging environments, including close-to-ground, under canopy, and over open water
  • Horizon:AWARENESS — Obstacle detection and avoidance to enable high-speed, low-altitude nap-of-the-earth flight as well as real-time scene understanding for landing-site identification and mission-critical perception
  • Horizon:ATR — AI-powered Automatic Target Recognition (ATR) to identify and intercept threats mid-air or on the ground with speed and reliability
  • Horizon:MAPPING — Rapid 3D scene generation and mapping from a single aerial pass with minimal imagery
  • Horizon:VISION — AI image and telemetry compression providing ultra-low-latency, low-bandwidth flight and visual data transfer via radio or satellite link for reconnaissance, target confirmation, or remote FPV flight

All these mission critical capabilities are offered on the same compute and sensor stack that powers Horizon

“Modern operational environments require systems that can execute high-speed, tactical maneuvers without relying on satellite guidance or high-bandwidth communication links,” said Sertac Karaman, Founder of Tycho.AI. “Horizon is a new class of intelligence that equips vehicles with best-in-class AI and autonomy, delivering a new generation of capabilities for the warfighter.”

Horizon’s vertically integrated flight controls, autonomy, and AI stack reduce operator cognitive load and accelerate mission timelines. It is built using a Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) and operates with reliable precision in the most extreme operational environments, including low-altitude, open-water, low-light, and nocturnal conditions. With its advanced perception suite, Horizon enables nap-of-the-earth autonomous flight, denial-environment operation, and real-time landing-site selection for maximum survivability in contested airspace. Paired with a high-frame-rate Automated Target Recognition (ATR) stack, it provides continuous all-domain target detection and tracking.

The Horizon stack is embedded in Halley, Tycho.AI’s vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) Group 1 UAS. Tycho.AI is also working with customers and industry partners to integrate Horizon on various UAS platforms to enable full autonomy or serve as an alternative navigation system when GPS or communications fail.
