After undergoing a rigorous testing regime specified by the California Air Resource Board (CARB), we can now offer the first Level 3 Plus, Mark 5 ‘Verified’ emission control system designed for standby emergency diesel generators for data centers. This allows us to finally marry diesel particulate filters (DPF – particulate matter control) and selective catalytic reduction (SCR – NOx control), and precious metal-based oxidation catalyst for reductions of carbon monoxide (CO) & non-methane hydrocarbons (NMHC), all into a CARB verified design.

We have been supplying a similar level of emission control in our proven all-in-one EPA Tier 4F ‘equivalent’ ecoCUBE^® systems for over a decade. CARB’s validation program provides an alternate pathway previously unavailable to the data center space and offers the added benefit of the emission control system being completely generator agnostic, vastly expanding its versatility.

The cv-ecoCUBE^® CARB ‘Verified’ system will have some unique offerings:

• The design was run through a rigorous set of durability demonstrations, earning it a comprehensive 4,200 run hour/5-year warranty coverage.
• In California emission source testing by independent 3^rd parties may no longer be required, resulting in substantial cost savings over the lifespan of the generator. 
• This design should allow for a more seamless permitting process in California and any other jurisdictions looking to adopt the program.
